Beatrix Potter's delicate animal illustrations lend their warmth and humour to this collection of traditional nursery rhymes and riddles. Familiar verses such as Hey Diddle Diddle and Tom, Tom, the Piper's Son appear alongside other playful favourites, inviting young children to enjoy their rhythms, curious characters and memorable language. Pictures drawn from Potter's much-loved world give each reading something new to notice, making the collection suited to quiet sharing as well as lively recitation. The accompanying musical arrangements by Peter Cobbin were created to bring the rhymes to life through voices and instruments, adding another dimension to the printed verses. The CD supplied with this copy has visible cracks; its playback condition is unverified.
