Violet Tasker recounts experiences she understands as encounters with the spirit world, connecting them with a life that took her from wartime England through Africa and Australia to New Zealand. Settling there with her family in 1971 forms part of the background to events that challenged her previous understanding of existence. She describes the personal significance of these experiences and the reassurance she believes they offer about death and continuing consciousness. Presented as her own account, the book explores questions of identity, belief and what may lie beyond ordinary perception. Earth to Heaven and Back offers readers interested in spiritual autobiography a glimpse into one woman's interpretation of unusual experiences and the convictions that developed from them.
