Flora’s Lot by Katie Fforde

An auction house offers Flora a fresh beginning

Good Condition - Covers show surface rubbing, edge wear and corner creases, with light soiling to the pale areas. Pages appear clean.

Flora leaves London hoping to make a new life for herself in the country, where a family auction business seems to offer purpose, opportunity and a welcome change of pace. The reality is considerably less accommodating. Her arrival is not greeted with universal enthusiasm, and proving that she can contribute means learning the business while negotiating the expectations and personalities already established there. As she becomes involved with the work, Flora discovers that taking charge of her future requires more determination than simply changing her address. Romantic complications add to the challenge of finding where she belongs. Katie Fforde combines the atmosphere of a provincial auction house with humour, friendship and attraction in a story about discovering unsuspected abilities and refusing to be underestimated.
