Meet the Missus by May Harrison

Warm observations and humour from everyday rural life

Good Condition - White covers show scuffing, light soiling, scattered brown marks and minor corner creases.

May Harrison finds poetry in the experiences, distractions and satisfactions of ordinary life. The third book in The Ordinary Guy series, Meet the Missus brings a personal, approachable voice to reflections on rural surroundings, familiar routines and the way time slips past while people are busy living. Humour and affection shape the poems, with moments of self-recognition balancing observations of the world around her. Photographs strengthen the collection’s connection to its New Zealand setting and the people and animals who inhabit it. Whether considering a day spent dreaming or the pleasures of words and rhyme, Harrison keeps the tone conversational. This slim collection offers readers an intimate glimpse of a poet who values life’s small incidents and the stories they can become.
