Raskolnikov, a poor young man, was forced to drop out of law school due to financial reasons, despite his academic success.

He believes it is wrong that money, while in the hands of despicable people who don't know what to do with it and are parasites on humanity, causes those who could make great contributions to the progress of society to suffer from a lack of money.
To correct this injustice, he kills an old and wealthy moneylender and his sister to eliminate any witnesses. Although he knows that no one saw him and that there is very likely no trace left behind, as a result of some coincidences, Raskolnikov falls into a state of terrible anxiety. He has lost his humanity, his innocence.

Raskolnikov, confessing his crime to the pure-hearted Sonya, surrenders to the police and goes to Siberia to serve his sentence.
