The dragon Scorch has ravaged the lands of Gladur Nock, forcing the people into poverty under both his tribute and the king’s oppressive rule. Hearing of their suffering, the knight Michael sets out to help. Along the way, he meets forest refugees who fear not only the dragon but also their own king, making Michael realize the kingdom’s troubles run deeper than he thought.

Captured by mercenaries, Michael is thrown into Gladur Nock’s dungeons, where men are trained to fight the dragon. His skill soon earns him a place in the Warrior Compound under the guidance of Princess Aina, who secretly sympathizes with the starving poor. While nobles gamble on his death, she shows Michael kindness, and they become allies.

When Michael finally faces Scorch, he discovers he can speak the dragon’s tongue. They battle with words before clashing in combat. Though Michael fights bravely, exhaustion overcomes him, and Scorch drags him to his lair. In his final moment, Michael opens his heart to the beast—awakening the truth: Scorch is none other than Star, the dragon who once taught him, twisted by the king’s cruelty.

Restored, Star vows to heal the land and help Michael overthrow the tyrant. With Aina’s aid and reinforcements from Michael’s old companions, they defeat the king. Freed from oppression, the people rejoice. Michael’s noble past is revealed, and with Aina at his side and Star as guardian, the kingdom enters a new age of peace.
