Delivering surprises to familiar fairy-tale neighbours

The Jolly Postman has a busy round ahead, with letters to deliver to some very recognisable residents of fairy-tale country. Goldilocks, the Three Bears and other familiar characters become part of a playful network of correspondence, each delivery offering a new glimpse into life beyond the original stories. Janet Ahlberg's detailed illustrations and Allan Ahlberg's witty text turn the postman's journey into an adventure full of jokes for children and adults to discover together. The book is designed around envelopes and pieces of post, making the act of reading part of the story's imaginative world. Charming and inventive, it celebrates letters, storytelling and the pleasure of wondering what might be waiting inside the next delivery.
