A vintage handbook for practical Scouting adventures
Vintage Fair Condition - Covers heavily creased/scuffed, edges worn, spine creased, corners curled. Name and brown stain on fore-edge, lower front gutter split. Pages lightly spotted but readable. Reprinted 1986.
The Scout Association of New Zealand sets out the Pathfinder Awards programme in this illustrated handbook, combining award-related material with practical skills for life outdoors. Camping, cooking and activities in the bush are explained through drawings, photographs and accessible instructions, while other sections introduce responsibilities and skills associated with the wider Scout experience. The emphasis is on learning by doing, building confidence and contributing as part of a group. First published in 1982 and reprinted here in 1986, the volume records the programme and methods of its period. It offers former Scouts a chance to revisit familiar material and readers interested in Scouting history a detailed view of how outdoor knowledge and personal development were brought together.
