An illustrated record of Oceanic and African artworks
Very Good Condition - Auction catalogue with light cover scuffing and minor corner/edge creases.
Webb's catalogue for its Important Oceanic & African Art auction of 10 June 2014 presents objects through photographs, descriptions and the contextual information assembled for the sale. Masks, carved figures, ceremonial forms and other works reveal a range of materials, shapes and traditions. Entries include details such as provenance and estimates, offering a record of how the objects were catalogued at that time. Introductory material considers the wider interest in these art forms and particular pieces within the collection. Beyond its original auction purpose, the catalogue provides a visual reference for readers interested in Oceanic and African art, collecting histories and the documentation of individual objects.
