In 1965, a young couple leaves a mountain community and its family expectations for life in the city, hoping that a different setting will allow them to shape their own future. Decades later, Wren Summers encounters an auction-house world of art, ambition and carefully protected reputations. An international assignment in Paris draws her towards discoveries that may explain more about her own family's past than she expected. Alexandra Joel moves between periods to build a story of romance, deception and reinvention, connecting the glamour of the art market with a mystery rooted far from it. The Artist's Secret follows a search for truth in which a concealed masterpiece may hold the key to a much more personal history.
