Tom Gates: Absolutely Fantastic (at Some Things) by Liz Pichon

A school trip promises excitement and unexpected complications

Good Condition - Ex-library. Covers rubbed/creased, corners worn, page edges browned/spotted; illustrated text shown unmarked.

Tom Gates is looking forward to the school activity trip, provided he can find the form needed to go. The prospect of making rafts, enjoying midnight feasts, and keeping an eye out for strange creatures gives him plenty to imagine, but ordinary complications have a habit of getting in the way. His sister Delia’s interest in the trip is another issue he would rather not have to manage. Liz Pichon tells Tom’s story through a lively combination of narration, doodles, comic pictures, and emphatic observations. Absolutely Fantastic (at Some Things) brings school life and family irritation into another illustrated adventure, celebrating the imagination of a boy who can find plenty to draw and joke about even when events refuse to follow his plans.
