Sounds I Hear by Ophra Gelbart

Listen closely to the sounds of everyday life

Good Condition - With minor corner creases and staple/spine wear. Photographed illustrated story spread shows no writing or obvious stains.

Ophra Gelbart invites young children to notice the many sounds around them, from weather and familiar household noises to voices and the music of ordinary activity. The simple text gives recognizable examples a place within a shared-reading experience, encouraging listeners to connect the words on the page with what they hear at home and outdoors. Mike Eagle’s illustrations make the scenes approachable, providing details children can look at and talk about while exploring the subject. Published for the HIPPY early-learning programme, Sounds I Hear offers an introduction to attentive listening through a child’s everyday world. It creates opportunities to name sounds, compare them, and discover how much can be noticed when someone pauses to listen.
