A mysterious bird-girl changes the meaning of family
Good Condition - Covers slightly rubbed and marked, with chipped corners; pink pencil/crayon scribble on preliminary title page.
Warren discovers a strange creature beneath a bush and cannot decide whether she is a girl shaped like a bird or a bird shaped like a girl. He takes her home to Tina, who wants to care for her as the child they never had. They call her Beedy, but her wings belong to a life that cannot be contained entirely within their home. As she seeks freedom, her journey brings different people into a story about attachment, imagination, and letting go. Joke van Leeuwen combines distinctive writing with playful line drawings, giving the unusual situation both humor and emotional warmth. Eep! invites readers to consider how love can create a family while still allowing each member to be themselves.
