My Property World by Bob Jones

Candid stories from the business of property ownership

Excellent Condition - with light rubbing and minor wear at cover edges and corners.

Bob Jones brings his outspoken humour and experience to an account of the people, negotiations and frustrations that surround commercial property. The book looks beyond buildings themselves to the personalities involved in buying, selling, developing and managing them, finding material in the conduct of agents, institutions and fellow businesspeople. Anecdotes illuminate the judgement, opportunism and sometimes absurd situations that accompany large transactions, while Jones’s distinctive voice gives even practical matters a sharply personal edge. Rather than a detached investment textbook, this is an insider’s account of his property world and the lessons and irritations it has supplied. It also offers a period view of New Zealand business culture, capturing an approach to enterprise shaped by direct experience, strong opinions and a taste for provocation.
