A peaceful escape becomes a spectacular comic disaster
Good Condition - Covers show creases, rubbing and a smudged patch on the rear. Page edges and leaf margins are browned; the photographed text spread appears unmarked.
Henry Wilt has no desire to accompany his wife Eva and their quadruplets on a visit to wealthy relatives in Atlanta. A solitary walking holiday in the English countryside seems a better route to peace, particularly with a bottle of whisky for company. Predictably, his attempt to escape ordinary troubles produces an entirely different set of calamities. Across the Atlantic, Eva's hopes of a future inheritance collide with the behaviour of the children and a drug-trafficking investigation. Tom Sharpe sends both halves of the family into increasingly outrageous situations, combining misunderstandings, ill-judged decisions and black humour in another episode of Wilt's determination to find quiet in a world that will not allow it.
